In response to the ever-changing landscape of the Covid-19 , we at Sunburst Vacation Rentals strive to keep everyone informed and safe. Here are our policies and answers to frequently asked questions.

As of Friday,  October 23, 2020,  North Carolina remains under  Phase Three,  effective until November 13, 2020.  For more information on the phases,click on Staying ahead of the Curve.

Face coverings must be worn in public and in private by all people over the age of 11 where six feet of social distancing is not possible.
All employees and customers of retail businesses must wear them, as must employees and customers of several other industries, including restaurants, 
Persons present at child care facilities, day and overnight camps, state government agencies, public transportation, meat or poultry processing plants, long-term care facilities or other health care settings must also wear face coverings.
Those who have underlying medical conditions, are exercising, or are associating with members of their own household don’t need to wear them, nor do people actively eating or drinking, giving speeches, in a personal vehicle in the home.
Cooper’s executive order #147 says that the failure to wear required face coverings won’t be enforced criminally by police, but persons refusing to wear masks could be cited for trespassing if they’re asked to leave a business but refuse.  People are required, with some exceptions, to wear face coverings while out in public when physical distancing of 6 feet is not possible.

What are we doing?

Housekeeping Standards
We have implemented stringent cleaning procedures recommended by the CDC,  to keep our guests, owners and cleaners safe.  The virus that causes COVID-19 can be killed if you use the right products. Sunburst Vacation Rentals uses the EPA product list of disinfectant products that can be used against COVID-19, including ready-to-use sprays, concentrates, and wipes. Each product has been shown to be effective against viruses that are harder to kill than viruses like the one that causes COVID-19.

We provide a starter set of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, laundry pod and dishwasher pod.  All bed linens and towels are provided.  
We do recommend bringing extra toliet tissue, paper towels, and sanitizer for your hands,  in the event supply is short in WNC. 

You can help slow the spread of the virus through social distancing and prevention hygiene, such as frequently washing your hands and wearing face coverings. Everyone has a role in making sure our communities are as safe as possible to remain open.

Cancellations/Bookings

We understand this is unprecedented times due to Covid - 19. We are complying with all Federal, State and local mandates. We will keep you abreast of any changes to the Policies in Haywood County and/or the State of North Carolina.

In the event you need to cancel for any reason and have not purchased travel insurance:

Cancellation Policy 
If the cancellation is 31 days or more prior to the arrival date, we will refund fifty (50%) percent of the nightly rate (either deposit or full payment) less a $200 cancellation fee.  If a reservation is cancelled within 30 days or less of the arrival date, the guest will not receive a refund for any portion of the nightly rate (either deposit or full payment).
 
All cancellations must be requested in writing by fax, e-mail or letter.   In the event we are able to re-rent the premises for the same period for an equal or greater amount. then and only then, will a refund be made less a cancellation fee of $200.00
 
Provided the guest cancels prior to the arrival date, guest will receive a refund of the cleaning fee, the cost of the vacation rental damage insurance policy or security deposit paid, as well as any hot tub or pet fees that were paid.  The reservation fee is not refundable.  All monies received shall be applied first towards the nightly rate, and then toward the other applicable fees.
 
We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover cancellation fees, however  read the exclusion clauses thoroughly.  Travel Cancellation and Protection Insurance is offered by Sunburst Vacation Rentals, and is designed to protect you in the event it becomes necessary for you to cancel your reservation.
