Yippee... it`s Spring!
Elk Calving Season
Most calves are born in late May thru June. The cows hide their calves in high grass. Cows can be aggressive in protecting their young. Visitors should stay out of the fields and 50 feet distance, always. By late June, you can often see the calves up and moving with the herd. Start your day early to view the elk, most are visible during dawn and dusk before they head to the tree lines. | |
